Your information, handled with purpose
Contact, enquiry, or host details you choose to provide.
To run the platform, support stays, and keep accounts secure.
For example, essential booking details with the relevant host.
Data is kept only as long as needed for its purpose or the law.
Fresh property media is handled carefully too: precise GPS coordinates are not intended for public display.
Freedo Stays helps travellers discover and book homestays and other stays offered by hosts. We use personal data to operate the platform, support bookings, and maintain a trustworthy experience for guests and hosts.
For personal data processed for our own purposes, Freedo Stays is the responsible entity and acts as the Data Fiduciary where required by Indian law.
We collect only information reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve Freedo Stays. This may include basic contact details, booking data, stay information, payment status, host profile data, support communications, and limited technical information such as IP address, browser details, and device information.
Where required for safety, verification, or legal compliance, we may also request identity-related information. We do not intend to store full card credentials when payment is handled by an authorised provider.
We process personal data to create and secure accounts, confirm bookings, share information with hosts when needed, communicate booking updates, support customer service, detect fraud, moderate uploads, maintain platform reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
We will not use personal data for incompatible new purposes without taking the steps required by applicable law.
Where consent is required, we seek clear permission for the specific purpose. Where applicable law permits processing without consent, or where processing is necessary for contract fulfilment, safety, legal compliance, or other legitimate needs, we may process personal data on that basis.
If consent is withdrawn, it does not invalidate processing lawfully carried out before the withdrawal.
We may share limited personal data with hosts when necessary to complete a booking or support a stay, with payment providers for transaction processing, and with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform.
We do not sell personal data. We limit disclosure to the minimum required for the stated purpose and comply with applicable law.
Where recent property media is uploaded, we may process the media and related metadata needed to operate the feature. We do not intend to publicly display precise GPS coordinates or other unnecessary location metadata.
Hosts should not publish private documents, personal information, or identifiable guests without a valid basis or permission. Guest reviews and uploads may be visible when intentionally submitted for publication.
We retain personal data only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. The exact retention period depends on the type of data and the applicable law.
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to processing, or restrict processing where the law applies. Please contact us through the support channels shown on the platform to exercise those options.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, or loss. No system is perfectly secure, and we ask users to exercise care when sharing information online.
If a serious incident occurs, we will respond in line with applicable legal obligations and relevant support or reporting procedures.
